A groundbreaking book revealing the special talents of visual thinkers
Do you have a great sense of direction, love puzzles, and assemble furniture in a flash? There’s a high chance that you are a visual thinker, then.
Temple Grandin leads us into the world of visual thinking based on cutting-edge research and extensive investigations. Visual thinkers make up a much larger percentage of the population than we realize. There are also different types of visual thinkers, from object visualizers, who excel at design and problem solving, to spatial visualizers, who excel at math, pattern recognition, and systematic thinking. Grandin says that the world we live in is centered around verbal thinkers: Visual thinkers are sidelined at schools, ignored in workplaces, and isolated in the world. Grandin says that we should not let the unique talents of visual thinkers go to waste - we need to stop the losses happening in production and innovation as a group. To that end, she presents a new approach to nurture, train, employ, and cooperate with visual thinkers. If we are to survive in this competitive world, we need diversity among people’s minds.
